Michael Allen is passionate about supporting the United States’ transition to a clean energy economy. He brings over a quarter century of renewable energy experience and experience developed as a former City Attorney, Angel Investor, Non-Profit Board Member, and Law Firm Founder and Managing Partner to his current work on renewable energy and energy efficiency transactions. His past and current clients include a publicly traded utility, solar developers and installers, engineering firms, colleges, start-up companies and non-profit organizations. He also represents clients in real estate and corporate transactions.

Michael earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School and his Undergraduate Degree from Cornell University. He is member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, a proud first-generation American, and a dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom.

Past and Present Transactions include:
- Negotiating, drafting, and reviewing the land acquisition, construction, and operating documents for utility scale solar projects.
- Representing colleges in campus-wide energy efficiency upgrades that included guaranteed energy savings performance contracts.
- Serving as outside general counsel to clean energy service companies, including solar installers, energy savings performance contractors and non-profits that administer state and utility energy efficiency programs
- Negotiating and drafting the ownership, construction and operational documents for cogeneration plant jointly owned by a public utility and state university and ongoing work advising the utility representatives on its Operating Committee, including attending its meetings for nearly two decades.
- Enabling an entrepreneur to build a company around his patented idle-elimination innovation, including providing not only legal counsel, but support in obtaining grants and venture capital, hiring the chief executive and other support along the way to its successful exit by sale to a holding company with a portfolio of complementary businesses.
